FORT

FORT is born out of simple design and ethical production. We create simple, classically cut pieces for the everyday.

Our collections are designed in our studio on the South Coast of Sussex where many of our garments are made. We also work with Lesia who is a Ukraine seamstress who has come to the UK on the Homes for Ukraine scheme. Lesia is a professionally trained seamstress with 40 years experience. We have set Lesia up with a sewing studio in Rutland where she works constructing FORT garments.

We also work with suppliers in India to stitch a small collection of our garments as we believe in being responsible, active, global citizens. We only work with suppliers in India that share our core values of valuing employees, fair wages, equal rights, and empowerment of women.

It is such a privilege to be creating and working in these surroundings and in such a small, interment production chain. We want to celebrate a craft that has been passed down through generations and keep it thriving in the UK and be a positive force within the wider community.

We only work with natural fabrics. Most of our fabrics are organic and many are rain-fed, hand-woven and naturally dyed. Otherwise, we use ASO-free dyes or waste material. It is vital to us that our fabrics are part of a cycle.

Each garment has a garment profile at the bottom of each product page so you can learn more about the fabric, production chain and values behind each garment.

We are inspired by YOU. BY WOMEN. BY LIFE.
